What is solubility?

Solubility is how well a solid or gas dissolves in a liquid like water.

Some substances mix in completely and disappear — like sugar in tea. Others barely dissolve at all, like sand in water.

What changes solubility?

Heating water often lets more solid dissolve. Stirring helps particles spread out and dissolve faster.

Each substance has a limit: once the water holds as much as it can, extra solid sinks to the bottom.
